With over 13 years at Ross Optical Industries, Faviola Villegas has become a trusted expert in customer service. Starting in the production and receiving department, she gained invaluable product knowledge that she now leverages to help clients find tailored solutions. For the past decade, Faviola has been the go-to contact for customers, ensuring smooth communication, timely updates, and exceptional service.


What is your professional background?
My career began in the medical field as a medical assistant, where I loved helping patients and making them feel at ease. However, after some time, I felt the need for a change. I began to consider how I could leverage my experience to transition into the business world.

What brought you to Ross?
 I started at Ross in 1997 as a part-time employee while finishing high school. After some time away working in the medical field, I decided to return to the company a few years later. Since then, I’ve had the chance to work in various departments, primarily coating and inspection, and truly felt at home with the company.

Can you describe your role at Ross?
 In my role at Ross, I take the time to understand each customer's needs and tailor my approach accordingly. I make it a priority to follow up to ensure their satisfaction. Over the years, I've built strong relationships with many of our clients, always striving to make them feel comfortable and valued when working with our company.

What challenges or questions do you address for customers?
 I make it a priority to address client questions thoroughly and accurately. A common challenge I encounter is managing concerns around lead times. To help with this, I maintain consistent communication with customers from start to finish, ensuring they’re kept informed and that their orders are delivered smoothly.

What project are you most proud of at Ross?
The project I’m most proud of at Ross is developing a forecast for our recurring clients. It’s incredibly rewarding to see the impact of accurate forecasting and consistently delivering their projects on time. By ensuring stock is readily available, our team can meet demand promptly, and I take great pride in meeting those expectations.

What is your favorite part of working at Ross?
What I enjoy most about working at Ross is the friendly and supportive environment. I appreciate the flexibility and understanding from both our supervisors and team members. Being part of such a positive workplace truly makes Ross a great place to work.

What trends do you see in the market?
The optics market is evolving rapidly across various sectors, with exciting advancements like optical surveillance systems and sensor miniaturization. What fascinates me most, however, is the expanding role of machine vision systems and their transformative impact on automation, robotics, and manufacturing.
